Becky Gallant, BS, CVT – Chair - bgallant@nhvta.org

Becky is a 2010 graduate of the Veterinary Technology program at Great Bay Community College. She also holds a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of New Hampshire. Currently Becky works as a full time technician for Derry Animal Hospital.  She has a strong interest in promoting the professional development of veterinary technicians through her work with the NHVTA. Becky brings previous experience in office administration, marketing and web design to her role as Chair of the NHVTA. Along with her work here in New Hampshire she is also a NAVTA member and a member of the NAVTA State Committee.

Becky enjoys spending time with her supportive and New England sports loving husband Bill, as well as with their three dogs (Marley, Tessie & Lucy), two cats (Mongo and Betty White), her horse Kali, several pet goats and a variety of ducks! 

Patty Pate, CVT, VTS (ECC), CFE – Secretary - secretary@nhvta.org

Patty Pate studied Animal Sciences at Cornell University. She has nearly 20 years’ experience as a Veterinary Technician and has spent the last 14 years specializing in Emergency and Critical Care. Patty currently works as a Veterinary Technician in the Emergency and ICU Department at Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital in Portsmouth, NH.  In 2012, Patty completed the rigorous 3 year process to earn her Veterinary Technician Specialty in the discipline of Emergency and Critical Care.  As well as serving as a leader, innovator and mentor in her field, Patty strives to provide quality care to her patients and their owners. Patty is passionate about teaching and has worked to establish a quality internship program at Port City, where local veterinary technology students can come, learn and apply their classroom skills in a clinical setting.

Ed Carlson, CVT, VTS (Nutrition) –  Treasurer - treasurer@nhvta.org

Ed Carlson is the Technician Learning and Development Manager for Ethos Veterinary Health, East Region and VetBloom. He obtained a VTS (Nutrition) in 2014 and lectures frequently at local, regional, and national veterinary conferences on a variety of nutrition topics. He is the Treasurer of the Massachusetts Veterinary Technician Association, the New Hampshire Veterinary Technician Association, and the Academy of Veterinary Nutrition Technicians Ed is also a member Association of Veterinary Technician Educators and serves on multiple NAVTA committees.

Lynda Vermillion, LVT, CVT, VTS (SAIM) – Chair, Continuing Education Committee

Lynda Vermillion has worked in the veterinary field for over 25 years.  She is a graduate of the Northern Virginia Community College Veterinary Technician program and has experience in small animal, mixed animal, emergency and referral medicine. Lynda currently works in the Internal Medicine department at CAVES. She strongly promotes client education and loves coaching students as they fulfill the clinical requirements of the Vet Tech program. In her free time, Lynda likes to travel, read, knit, and spend time with her family.

Mary Wiley, CVT, VTS (Clinical Practice) – Scholarship & SCNAVTA Committee Chair

Mary has been with Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester for the past seven years, and involved with the veterinary field for over fourteen years.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology from Mount Ida College in 2005.  In 2005 she also passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) to become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).  In 2012 she passed the rigorous application and examination process to become certified by the Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Clinical Practice (AVTCP) as a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS).  Mary is actively involved with the New Hampshire Veterinary Technician Association (NHVTA) and serves on the credentials committee for the AVTCP as well as acts as a mentor for potential VTS applicants.   She is also a member of the Massachusetts Veterinary Technician Association (MVTA), the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA), and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS).  Mary continues to promote the field of veterinary technology by providing continuing education lectures to fellow staff and community.  Most recently she has accepted adjunct faculty positions at both Mount Ida College and the University of New Hampshire where she continues to actively support the profession of veterinary technology.

Janine Graham, RVT – Regional Rep for Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee Region

Janine obtained her RVT in 1996 through the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians. Janine brings vast experiences in Hospital Administration and technician experience in ECC, Internal Medicine and Exotic Medicine to her role with the NHVTA. She has particular interest in Continuing Education. Janine’s passion for veterinary medicine shows through to any technician that meets her.  Her strong beliefs and skills help her to teach and show new members to the field how to be passionate for what they do, and compassionate for those they serve.

Diane Baraby, CVT – Regional Rep for the Lakes Region

Diane holds both an A.S. in Veterinary Technology and a B.S. in Biology.  She has experience in Emergency and Critical care and currently works for SAVES in Lebanon, NH. After college Diane worked for CAVES for several years where she worked in both the emergency and internal medicine departments. While attending school Diane served as the Secretary for the Student NHVTA club, along with the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Diane’s pre-veterinary career included work as a Deputy Shellfish Warden where her main responsibility was to oversee the aquaculture program  for shellfish ( clams, scallops and oysters).  She also work as a research assistant at the Marine Biological Laboratory where she mostly worked with sea urine and occasional tube worms. After moving to NH Diane worked as a Seasonal Fishery Biologist conducting fish surveys, habitat restoration along with stocking trout and salmon in streams and rivers throughout NH.
