NHVTA Student Scholarship

 The NHVTA is committed to supporting the veterinary technology profession and is pleased to fund an annual scholarship for veterinary technology and veterinary nursing students.

 The NHVTA will award one $1000.00 scholarship for Spring 2023, to a veterinary technology student enrolled in an AVMA Accredited Program.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must:

  • Be actively enrolled and attending classes full-time at an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology or veterinary nursing program.
    • If the program is located outside of New Hampshire or is Distance Learning the applicant must be a permanent resident of New Hampshire
  • Must be a current member of the New Hampshire Veterinary Technician Association. Membership is free for students. A link to the free student member application is below.

 Application Process:

To apply, students must submit the following on or before December 31, 2022

  • Click on the link below to complete the online scholarship application form.
  • Cumulative GPA (the NHVTA scholarship committee will be confirming submitted GPAs with the appropriate program faculty)
  • A personal essay must be uploaded to the online scholarship application form. 
    • Please address one of the following questions in a one-page essay (500-700 words). (Presentation will be considered)
      • Looking forward to your profession, it is important to think about what your role will be.  Veterinary Technician utilization is an important topic.  What do you envision is the current role of a Credentialed Veterinary Technician, and how do you think that will change over time?
      • The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) is encouraging a national credentialing initiative to bring more uniformity to the credentialing of technicians. How do you see our profession changing in the next five to ten years? How do you see yourself fitting into your new role?
