This lecture will review the neuroanatomy of the vestibular system and the clinical signs seen when there is dysfunction. Peripheral vs. central vs paradoxical localization will be reviewed. Videos of numerous clinical cases will be used to demonstrate deficits seen with vestibular dysfunction of various localizations. The location of the lesion will be determined and work-up options discussed. The pros/cons of radiographs vs. CT vs. MRI for vestibular cases will be discussed. We will review clinical cases from the beginning through to completion; clinical signs, localization, work up, workup findings, treatment options (if any) and out-comes (including histopathology).
