Equine Emergencies

If you work in a large animal practice, it’s not uncommon to hear “there’s a colic coming!” or “severe laceration with possible joint involvement arriving in less than 30 minutes!”.  Immediately your adrenaline kicks in and you get to work…. but are you prepared?  Do you know what to have at the ready?  Each emergency is different and will require different diagnostics.  This course will cover the most common equine emergencies and what to have ready to work them up.

Equine Surgical Procedures and Equipment

The veterinary technician plays a vital role on the equine surgical team.  Knowing all aspects of the equine surgery process, from what instruments are needed to how to safely recover the patient is key to a safe and successful outcome.  This course will cover some of the most common surgical procedures done, and the equipment used.
